Add the cells that meet a single condition.

Syntax

SUMIF(range, criteria, [sum_range])

Arguments

range
Cells to test against the criteria.
criteria
A value, text, or expression in quotes: 100, ">100", "North", "<>"&A1, "North*".
sum_rangeoptional
Cells to add. Omit to sum `range` itself.

Examples

=SUMIF(A2:A100, "North", C2:C100)

total sales for North

=SUMIF(B2:B100, ">="&E1)

sum of values ≥ E1
