Retirement Corpus Calculator

Estimate how much you need to retire. Enter your age, target retirement and life-expectancy ages, today's monthly expenses, expected inflation and returns, and what you've saved so far. The tool inflates your expenses to retirement, works out the corpus needed to fund them, compares it with your projected savings, and shows how much more you'd need to invest each month.

A planning estimate. It assumes steady returns and inflation, expenses that rise only with inflation, and that the whole corpus is drawn down to zero by your life-expectancy age. It doesn't model a pension, EPF/NPS separately, healthcare shocks, or taxes on withdrawals — treat the number as a target to aim past, not a precise figure. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Enter your current age, planned retirement age and a life-expectancy age.
  2. Enter your current monthly expenses, expected inflation, and the returns you expect before and after retirement.
  3. Enter what you've already saved for retirement and your current monthly investment.
  4. Read the corpus target, your projected total, and the monthly top-up needed to close any gap.

FAQ

Why are pre- and post-retirement returns different?
Before retirement you can take more equity risk for higher growth; after retirement the portfolio shifts to safer, lower-return assets to protect capital. Typical assumptions are ~11% pre and ~7% post.
How accurate is this?
It's a planning estimate. It assumes steady returns and inflation and draws the corpus to zero at your life-expectancy age. Aim to build a buffer above the number it gives.
