GSTIN Validator
Check that a 15-character GST Identification Number is well-formed — the state code, the embedded PAN, the entity number and the final check character — and decode the state and PAN holder type. Format only: it can't confirm the GSTIN is registered or active.
Structure and checksum are validated in your browser. To confirm a GSTIN is registered and active, use the “Search Taxpayer” tool on the official GST portal.
FAQ
- Does this check the GST portal?
- No. It validates the structure and the checksum offline. To confirm a GSTIN is active, use the official GST portal's Search Taxpayer tool.
- What does a GSTIN contain?
- Two digits of state code, then the 10-character PAN of the business, then a digit for the registration count within that PAN, the letter Z, and a final check character.
